The 2008 workshop was held on September 25-26, 2008, in Austin, Texas.

The 2007 workshop was held on November 15-16, 2007, in Austin, Texas.

The 2006 workshop was held in September 2006 in Austin, Texas.

Announcement

A new gas flooding research program was initiated at The University of Texas at Austin (UT) on September of 2006. Research is supervised by Drs. Bryant, Huh, Jablonowski, Johns, Lake, Nguyen, Pope, and Sepehrnoori. Industrial affiliates are encouraged to provide topics and data for research so that the research is company led, not UT led.

Goals

The specific goals of the gas flooding research group are to

• Generate innovative short- and long-term research in gas flooding and closely related areas
  
• Recruit and train bright graduate students for careers in the oil industry to ensure a viable and well-trained future workforce in petroleum engineering
  
• Provide useful and practical software to members and disseminate research results via a central web page and annual meetings (examples of toolkits are given in the "welcome" presentation)
